<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the mechanism of a sorter, by intermittingly rotating a plurality of trays and providing means for urging sheet pushing plates toward the trays, and means for separating the plates away from the trays when the tray is stopped in a prescribed position. CONSTITUTION:A sorter 3 includes a plurality of trays 41-48 radially attached to a core C which is supported so that it can be rotated by a driver. One end of a pair of parallel links 7 is attached to the bottom of the tray. A sheet pushing plate 6 is attached to the other end of the pair of parallel links 7. One end of a spring 8, the other end of which is secured on the bottom of the tray, is attached to the middle bent part of the pair of links 7. When there are sheets P on the tray, the sheets are pushed and held. When the tray is moved to a position opposed to a sheet discharge section 2, the sheet pushing plate 6 is separated away from the top of the tray so that sheets P can be put on the tray.</p> |
