PURPOSE:To facilitate attachment and detachment by providing an adapter with an elastic sleeve which has an expanding slot wherein a plug is pressed and a presser plate which presses the pressed-in plug. CONSTITUTION:The coating of the terminal of an optical fiber 4 to be connected is peeled partially and the terminal is inserted into a plug 6; and the optical fiber 4 is adhered to the plug 6 fixedly so that the tip of the core is aligned to the front end of a ferrule 62. Then, the plug 6 is inserted into the expanding slot 711 formed in the sleeve of the adapter 7 made of an elastic synthetic resin molded part. In this case, presser plates 72 are provided to both ends opposing to the sleeve, so the stopper 61 of one plug 6 is inserted firstly in conformity with the sleeve of the adapter 7 and the presser plate 72 and then the plug 6 is inserted to confirm with the ferrule 62. Then, the stopper 61 of the plug 6 is pressed by the presser plate 72 to connect the optical fiber 4. |
