PURPOSE:To detect the position of pattern data even in case it is obtained as the image of bright points by dividing pattern data region to be recognized into small regions and by newly forming pattern data region to be recognized with the small pattern data bit region considered as the pattern data of one bit. CONSTITUTION:An XY stage 16 is moved by the XY stage controller 15 under the control of system 14 so that the region including a lead of IC package 1 comes into the sight of a TV camera 6, a pattern signal is supplied to a binary code generating circuit 8 through a TV camera driver 7 and such binary code is fetched by the first image memory 9. A pattern data region is divided by a small region dividing circuit 10 and is then read. A number of pattern bits in the small region is counted by a bit counter circuit 11 in the small region, when such value is larger than the pescribed value, such bits are stored in the second image memory 12 as a pattern image element and the corner points A, B are detected by the pattern position detecting circuit 13. |
