Process for the treatment of metallic parts, especially made of aluminium, iron, copper or an alloy of these metals, to improve the hardness and frictional properties of the said parts, of the type comprising the deposition of a metallic coating on these parts. According to the invention the process is characterised in that the said deposition comprises essentially nickel and titanium in a proportion of three atoms of nickel per one atom of titanium, and is performed under temperature conditions such that Ni3Ti is obtained as a hexagonal phase. The invention applies to the treatment of metal parts.
