PURPOSE:To provide the effect of light diffusion and prevent the unevenness of luminance of a transmitted light, by attaching a transparent member on one side of a polarizer and attaching a semitransparent member having the light diffusing property on the other side. CONSTITUTION:A transparent member 2 and a semitransparent member 11 consisting of a semitransparent member and a semitransparent film-shaped material are attached to one and the other sides of a polarizer 1 respectively to form a polarizing plate 12. The polarizing plate 12 is attached to a liquid crystal display body 4 on the side of a light source 8, and a conventional light diffusing plate 9 is not provided. The light from the light source 8 is diffused when it is transmitted through the semitransparent member 11, and thereafter, the light is polarized by the polarizer 1; and hereafter, the light is transmitted through the transparent member 2, a glass plate 5, a liquid crystal 7, and a glass plate 6 similarly to a conventional device and is transmitted through the polarizing plate 12 and is recognized visually. Consequently, the transmitted light having no unevenness of luminance is attained on the visual recognition side. |
