PURPOSE:To improve the heat exchange efficiency of an air conditioner by a method wherein ice is formed in the shape of ice slurry, which is allowed to be transported through piping, and the ice slurry is conserved as it is in a heat accumulator so as to store cold heat. CONSTITUTION:A cooling means 5 or a means to cool brine fed to an air conditioner 3 by stored cold heat consists of a take-out passage 17 equipped with a pump 17a, which takes ice slurry out of a heat accumulator 5 in order to pour the slurry into a brine feeding passage 11. When cooling is unnecessary or during the night and the like, a cold heat generator 1 is put into operation so as to manufacture the ice slurry at an ice plant 4. The manufactured ice slurry is conserved in the heat accumulator 5 so as to store cold heat. When cooling is required, the brine is cooled at a cooling device 2 by operating the cold heat generator 1 and at the same time by the stored cold heat. Because some part of cooling is supplemented by the stored cold heat, the load on the cold heat generator 1 is reduced and consequently the miniaturization of the cold heat generator 1 is contrived.
