PURPOSE:To adjust a water supply amount under the influence of centrifugal force due to the rotation of a main shaft so as to improve a lubricating state during low speed, by draining lubricating water through the inside of a main shaft. CONSTITUTION:A water sealing packing 6 is provided on each of both ends of a bearing 5, and lubricating water is supplied to the inside of the bearing 5 through a water supply pipe 7. A main shaft 1 is provided with drain holes 3, 4 in a part equivalent to its bearing and its center part, and therefore the lubricating water is drained into the downstream side of a runner 2, by utilizing such a phenomenon that centrifugal force acting as the resistance to water staying in both drain holes 3, 4 becomes small at low rotation, it is made possible to supply a much amount of lubricating water, at the time of low speed rotation such as upon starting, when a lubricating water film is hardly formed.
