Stabilizing SBR latex in cement formulations with low molecular weight polymers

A composition comprising cement, a synthetic latex, preferably SBR latex, water and a low molecular weight polymer. The low molecular polymer preferably has a thermogravimetric value of less than 25 percent weight loss at 350 DEG C. The composition is useful in a method of making a cement composition containing an elastomeric latex.
