PURPOSE:To analyze predetermined specific components in a fluid sample, by incorporating in one of reagent layers a polymer contg. more than specific weight % monomer unit of copolymerizable, ethylenic, unsaturated acid by more than specific weight % . CONSTITUTION:Said multilayered analytical element is composed of the following components: (1) a supporting material (e.g., cellulose acetate) that is light- transmissible and light-impermeable, (2) at least one reagent layer, which is located at one side of said supporting material, and contains a reagent that is capable of reacting with a component existing in a liquid sample, and (3) developing layers for non-cellulosic, porous medium such as a brush polymer which is intended to make another component existing in the liquid sample that is located at the other side of said reagent layer. A polymer which contains a monomer unit such as acrylic acid and itaconic acid, that is a copolymerizable, ethylenic, unsaturated acid, by at least 5wt%, is incorporated in said reagent layer by at least 5wt% by this constitution, the present analytical element is ensured not only to be improved in performance, but also to be handled very easily. |
