<p>PURPOSE:To reduce keys for input in number and to realize size reduction, by coding KANA (Japanese syllabary) characters of a name to be inputted to an electronic telephone number directory on X-Y coordinates and using a two-digit number. CONSTITUTION:The keyboard 6 provided to an electronic telephone number directory is provided with a few function keys 10-15 in addition to a ten-key of 0-9, and the X-Y coordinates shown in a table 30 are generated to code KANA characters, a comma, and a full stop into two-digit numbers. A write mode is set by switching 13, a KANA key 11 is pressed to input KANA characters of a desired name on the table 30 by using two-digit numbers successively, and an input key 14 is pressed to store them temporarily; and a number key 10 is pressed to input a telephone number with the ten-key, and the input key 14 is pressed to store the number temporarily. The key 14 is pressed again to store the name and number in a memory which is not shown in a figure. When the number is found, read mode is set, the name is inputted similary to the input operation, and a confirmation key 15 is pressed to display the number on a display part (unshown in a figure).</p> |
