PURPOSE:To evade abnormal operation and serious accidents, by stopping a device in safety after specific processing if abnormality occurs in data transfer to and from a peripheral device. CONSTITUTION:If abnormality occurs in data transfer during copying operation, the diagnostic flag of the step is not set, so ON operation is performed to start processing immediately. For example, when transferring paper is fed, the feeding is stopped immediately and after the transferring paper which is already fed is discharged, the device is stopped in a normal state. In this example, only data diagnosis and copy starting and stopping are described, but transfer contents of data are numerous actually. Thus, abnormal operation and serious accidents are evaded. |
