Ceramic pipes with sleeves are used for the individual exhaust-air ducting of corrosive gases from the laboratory. Here, individual pipes brought together in a block are offset helically from floor to floor inside the shaft in the building, it being possible for the respective room connection pipe to be arranged in an especially favourable assembly situation. The necessary fire safety is achieved by a fire-safety barrier of standard construction which is characterised by a water siphon and can be visually inspected from outside. <IMAGE>
