For a fountain assembly with an underwater housing which has a lighting unit and a submerged motor pump and also a central pressure pipe for a fountain connection, a more compact and easily mountable embodiment is provided which also makes possible a reduction in the material and sealing cost and finally a uniform illumination of the fountain jet, which can also take place "from inside outwards". For this purpose, the lighting unit is arranged centrally beneath the pressure pipe and is united with the electrical connection part of the submerged motor pump to form a common unit encapsulated towards the outside. A space formed above the lamp can appropriately be provided to conduct pressurised water, this space opening centrally upwards into the pressurised water pipe.
