PURPOSE:To prevent the decrease in the braking efficiency of a rotor by mounting a dustproof cover made of a nonmagnetic material which is covered on an exciting coil between the rotor and a retarder unit, thereby eliminating the leakage of lines of magnetic force. CONSTITUTION:A flywheel 5 which is mounted on a crankshaft 3 between an internal combustion engine 1 and a transmission 2 is composed of a magnetic unit. A retarder unit 7 is mounted on a flywheel housing 6. A dustproof cover 16 made of a nonmagnetic material is mounted between the tees 9 of the flywheel 5 and the unit 7 inside a flywheel housing 6. The cover 16 prevents the magnetic powder from being adhered to the exciting coil, the core and a shortcircuit ring. |
