PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head which excels in the record/reproduction sensitivity with no problem of strength, by providing the nonmagnetic reinforcement members in contact with the side surfaces of auxiliary magnetic poles provided in the groove to have the desired width after joined magnetically to the main magnetic pole. CONSTITUTION:The contact face of a recording medium of a magnetic heads formed into a pyramid shape as shown in the figure, and the thickness of auxiliary magnetic poles 7 and 7' is reduced less than the conventional value. At the same time, nonmagnetic reinforcement members 32 and 32' of glass, etc. are provided in contact with the side surfaces of the poles 7 and 7'. If the glass thickness Tg is too large, a winding C separates from the poles 7 and 7' to reduce the record/reproduction sensitivity although the strength is increased. Therefore, the thickness Tg of the members 32 and 32' is reduced as less as possible within an allowable range of strength to obtain the optimum sensitivity of record and reproduction. |
