This document filing cabinet has a floor-standing outer casing in which narrow vertical drawers are suspended. When a particular drawer number is selected on the keyboard at the top of the cabinet, two electromagnets are energised, one on either side in the bottom of the required drawer. The electromagnets force pins into a perforated horizontal metal strip. The strips and the selected drawer are then lifted up by means of a motor and cable drive. - Each drawer is divided into three vertical sections, each of which has front and rear flaps. The flaps fall open at an acute angle when the section clears the top of the cabinet, allowing access to that section for inserting or removing documents.(0/9)
