The subject-matter of the application is represented comprehensively by Fig. 1 of the application which is attached to the abstract. Fig. 1 of the application shows the slipring arrangement in a longitudinal section, with all the details for the structural construction and cooling. For improved cooling, each slipring is split into a number of individual sliprings which are shrunk onto intermediate shrink-rings which are insulated from the slipring shaft, these intermediate shrink-rings at the same time being used for supplying current to and taking it away from the sliprings. Cooling-air ventilators are arranged on the intermediate shrink-rings, in front of and behind the sliprings. Semicircular busbars are inserted in an insulated manner into the hole in the slipring shaft. Via energising-current supply bolts, which are screwed into these busbars, are cooled together with them and are connected to the live intermediate shrink-rings of the sliprings by contact nuts, these busbars produce current inlet and outlet flow for the energising winding of the turbo rotor. The energising-current bolts are provided in front of and behind each slipring in a twin arrangement, for the high current intensities which have to be coped with. <IMAGE>
