PURPOSE:To easily attain the remote control of an actuator provided with an alloy member having thermal elastic type martensite modification/reverse modification characteristics and to improve the reliability of the titled device by operating the actuator with laser light. CONSTITUTION:Fluid is made flow into a pipe 7 upwards as shown by arrows and a shape storing alloy member 11 is under the thermal elastic type martensite reverse modification temperature, room temperature. In said status, the shape storing alloy member 11 is deformed by the upward force of the fluid so as to be extended, so that a valve 9 is opened. Laser light 6 is irradiated and guided into the inside of the pipe 7 through a reflector 13, a lens 15 and a light transmitting window 10 to irradiate the shape storing alloy member 11. When the temperature of the shape storing alloy member 11 is raised and reaches the thermal elastic type martensite reverse modification temperature, the member 11 is contracted so as to be restored to a previously processed prescribed shape, so that the valve 9 is closed and the flow of the fluid is stopped. Thus the flow of the fluid can be controlled from a remote place. |
