PURPOSE:To improve the stereophonic feeling, by calculation processing a stereo signal with a specific conditional formula, obtaining signal intensity and its difference and obtaining a signal at an intermediate position. CONSTITUTION:The signal intensity Vq at an intermediate point Q is obtained by taking the width of left and right sound sources as (1) and (x) as 0<x<1. On the other hand, the relation of outputs at the intermediate point between a sum signal resistor 11 and a difference signal resistor 10 is V1=(1-x)Ri+xLi and V2=(1-x)Ri-xLi. Effective values Va, Vb are obtained from effective value circuits 12, 13 an effective output difference Vc=Va-Vb is obtained from a differencial circuit 15, and the signal intensity Vq at the point Q is obtained as Vq=Vc/2x(1-x) with the correction 16. In case of recording, the value of the intermediate point is displayed on a VU meter, and in case of reproduction, the value is taken as the reproduced output depending on the position. Then, the stereophonic feeling is improved. |
