PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality 6-aminopenicillanic acid in high yield, by subjecting a solution containing a 6-aminopenicillate obtained by hydrolyzing a penicillin with an enzyme to a reverse osmosis membrane so that it is concentrated. CONSTITUTION:A solution containing a 6-aminopenicillate (e.g., ammonium 6- aminopenicillate, sodium 6-aminopenicillate, etc.) prepared by hydrolyzing a penicillin with an enzyme is subjected to a reverse osmosis membrane so that it is concentrated. For example, the treatment is carried out at 0-50 deg.C at 30- 50kg/cm<2> operation pressure for about 1-24hr, preferably 2-10hr residence time and the ratio of salt removal is >=99.5%. The loss amount of 6-aminopenicillate can be reduced more extremely than a well-known reduced pressure concentration or nonconcentration method, and energy required for the concentration saved greatly as well. |
