In a conventional greenhouse, individual crop regions, which can be pushed together into a block at night, are isolated with respect to the ground and the interior of the greenhouse, by floor troughs, lateral enclosures and an upper, height-adjustable covering, and also by sealing devices, such that, with the smallest volumes which can match the space requirements of the crop, and with a smaller outlay of energy and carbon dioxide gas, a substantial increase in productivity is achieved.
