Anti-microbial washing composns - contg terpenes as bactericides and optical brighteners

The composns. contain (A) 0.2-20, pref. 0.5-10, esp 1-5 wt % aliphatic or alicyclic terpenes, (B) 0.02-2, pref. 0.05-1, esp. 0.1-0.75 wt % optical brighteners and (C) 50-99.78, pref. 70-95, esp. 80-90 wt % various usual org. and inorganic components of washing composns. e.g. surfactants, builder salts etc. The composns. are suitable for washing and disinfecting clothes and bed-linen esp. from hospitals. In addition to their bactericidal action, the terpenes are compatible with the optical brighteners.
