PURPOSE:To convert fishes and shellfishes into feed having value added, by fermenting them. CONSTITUTION:Toxic fishes and shellfishes which are ground and heat-treated are blended with wheat bran or rice bran or not, adjusted to about 50-65wt% water content, inoculated with a mold or bacterium, and fermented at 35-60 deg.C under aerobic conditions to give a product. The component of paralytic shellfish poison is common to tetrodotoxin of puffer toxin in terms of component structure, so that the method to make tetrodotoxin of puffer toxin nontoxic is also applied to other toxic shellfishes. |
