PURPOSE:To obtain the high grade paper imitation reproduced in a detailed embossed pattern, by a method wherein high grade paper being a manuscript is read and recorded by using a color scanner while obliquie illumination is performed to obtain a graphic arts image free from irregularity. CONSTITUTION:High grade paper 1 such as high grade Japanese paper, embossed paper or the like is mounted to the manuscript cylinder 2 of a color scanner while a recording film 3 is mounted to a recording cylinder 4 and the manuscript 1 is scanned by a light spot while a reading head 9 having a light source 50 provided thereto is moved in parallel relation to the axial line of the cylinder 2. Reflected light is converted to an image signal current 10 by the photocell in the head 9 while the obtained current is used as a light source control current 25 through a correcting circuit 11, an analogue comparator 22 and a light source control circuit 24 to regulate the quantity of light of the exposure light source in an exposure head 26 to record a graphic arts image by the recording film 3. A printing plate is fabricated based on the obtained graphic arts image and printing is applied to printing paper by the printing plate to obtain high grade paper imitation. |
