PURPOSE:To measure the interior of a chimney through a remote control by means of a measuring device installed to a body, by a method wherein a propeller attached to a measuring device body is revolved, and the measuring body is pressed against the inner wall surface of the chimney by exerting its reaction force. CONSTITUTION:A checking device consists of a measuring device body 1 having various measuring devices in a casing, a propeller 2 installed to the body 1, and a leg 3. The propeller 2 is coupled directly to a motor 2A, with the propeller 2 revolved, a thrust force is produced at the measuring device body 1 through its reaction force. Installation of a blade plate 4 also permits the measuring device body 1 to be forcibly pressed against the inner wall surface of a chimney by exerting an air pressure through utilization of the rising air current of an exhaust gas rising in the chimney during passage of the gas. This enables to perform checking of the interior of the chimney through unmanned operation, and facilitates maintenance. |
