A tyre bead reinforcement comprises a circumferentially extending ring (1, 11) material, e.g. steel shaped in cross-section to define a pocket in which is located a circumferential winding (3, 12), e.g. of rubber-coated steel cord. The pocket may completely (Figure 1) or partly (Figure 9) enclose the winding. The ring may define a plurality of pockets each containing a respective winding.
