Loom with weft picker advanced by endless belt - continuously moving in same direction, drive pref. being transmitted magnetically to picker

A loom includes a weft picker which advances through the warp to pick the weft and is guided during its movement by a track formed by a series of fingers on the reed. The weft picker is advanced by light endless belt supported e.g. by wheels at the edge of the warp and continuously advanced in the same direction. The mechanism is simple and can operate at high speeds. Pref. the weft picker has a magnetisable block which is attracted to a magnet carried by the belt so that drive is transmitted from the belt to the weft picker.
