Sliding ladle stopper - with adjustable sealing pressure between refractory slabs by lifting mechanism and springs

Sliding stopper for the nozzle of tundishes or steel ladles consists of a lower metal frame with a sliding refractory slab which is pressed by a system of springs against an upper stationary refractory slab. The springs rest on a support plate which can be lifted by a hydraulic, pneumatic or screw mechanism to press both slabs together during the pouring operation. A pin can be used to couple arms on the plate to arms on the ladle bottom. This ensures a complete and stable seal between stationary and sliding refractory slabs. Manual operations under high-temp. conditions are saved and wear is automatically compensated.
