PURPOSE:To operate an upsetter continuously for many hours, by screwing and connecting the start part and the end part of wire rods of two windings or more by a connector, and supplying it. CONSTITUTION:The winding start part of the first wire rod A1 among wire rods of three windings hooked to a hooking rod 6 of a wire rod supply device 3 is pinched by a roll of a material feed device 2 and is fed into an upsetter 1. In this case, the winding end part of the wire rod A1 and the winding start part of the second wire rod A2, and the winding end of the second wire rod A2 and the winding start end of the third wire rod A3 are coupled by a connector 9, respectively, and the wire rods of three windings are connected consecutively. That is to say, the winding end parts of the wire rod A1 and A2 are thread-cut and an external thread 7 of left-hand is formed, respectively, and the winding start parts of the wire rods A2, A3 are thread-cout and an external thread of right-hand is formed, respectively, and they are butted to each other. Also, these butt parts are connected by the connector 9 which forms external threads 11, 12, respectively. In this way, when processing of the wire rod A1 by the upsetter 1 is ended, the wire rod A2 is fed into the upsetter 1 automatically, by which the continuous operation can be maintained. |
