The double upper pulleys 3 and the pairs of lower pulleys 4 clamp between them two metal strips 1a-1b and 2a-2b whose facing edges carry a succession of lugs 10. Hooked onto the upper lugs 10 is an endless strip 11, made, for example, of plastic, which joins together these two rows of lugs. Hooked onto the lower lugs 10 are two strips 15a-15b forming a free space between them. The metal strip 21 on which the deposition is to be performed passes between, on the one hand, 11 and, on the other hand, 15a-15b.
