The load selector comprises a cylindrical box (1) with fixed contacts (2) and a central smaller diameter tube (5). The tube may rotate step by step, and supports three movable correiers (6,7,8) carrying contacts (9), as well as three resistances (10,11,12). The bottom of the cylinder is closed by a base (13) which provides a bearing support (14) for the rotating tube. A second bearing (15) supports the top of the tube. The inner rotating tube actually consists of two parts the lower part (51) being a metal tube which supports the various contact assemblies, while the upper part (52) is made of an insulating material to ensure that there is adequate electrical isolation from earth.
