Process for the disposal and utilisation of wastes

A process and apparatuses for carrying out the process are described for disposal and utilisation of wastes such as refuse, sewage sludge and other moist wastes. Dry wastes in this case are comminuted to fibre size in a plurality of stages and are then mixed with kiln lime and with wet wastes which have not yet been dewatered. The waste mixture is then pressed in a briquette press to give ecobriquettes and is then burnt for the production of energy. The flue gases formed in this are subjected to a flue gas scrubbing and the condensate formed is trapped and treated.
