A closed frame, the clear dimension of which is slightly greater than the external dimension of a curb (11), is first formed from four PVC angle strips (12). The angle strips (12) each have a flat leg (12a) which is adhesively bonded to the connecting flange (10) of the curb (11) by means of an adhesive layer (15) composed of polyester resin. The other legs (12b) of the PVC angle strips (12) are supported with their free ends on the side walls (13) of the curb (11) and covered by a laminate coating (18). The legs (12b) are provided, adjacent to their free ends, with notches (20) which enable the free ends to be pressed against the side walls (13) of the curb (11) even when the frame prefabricated from the PVC angle strips (12) does not correspond exactly to the dimensions of the curb (11). The frame consisting of the PVC angle strips (12) can be rapidly and securely connected to the connecting flange (10) of the curb (11). <IMAGE>
