In a production method for large transport containers made from cardboard, two blanks (48, 49) are laid flat and positioned side by side, and their adjacent free edges (61, 63) are moved to overlap each other. Thereafter, the overlapping free edges (61, 63) are connected to each other by clips (64) or bonding to form a pre-product (79). Subsequently, folding blades (91, 92) are used to fold the pre-product (79), which initially is still lying flat, along those two lateral longitudinal edges which are adjacent to that longitudinal edge which runs through the above-mentioned connection zone of the pre-product (79).
