<p>PURPOSE:To increase the formation rate of an alcohol and improve the utilization ratio of a culture medium, by circulating air or an inert gas through a closed system, controlling the temperature and moisture of the solid culture medium and moisture, and removing the generated alcohol. CONSTITUTION:Air or an inert gas is circulated through a reaction vessel 1 packed with a solid culture medium by a heater 5, a humidifier 9 in a heat pump apparatus 2 and a blower 7 to control the temperature and the moisture of the culture medium and carry out the saccharification reaction, growth of a yeast and alcoholic fermentation. The resultant alcohol formed in the solid culture medium is removed by circulating the air or inert gas through the reaction vessel 1, and the content of the alcohol is kept at about 5(W/V)% or less based on the moisture in the solid culture medium to increase the formation rate of the alcohol and the utilization ratio of the raw material. The alcohol in the air or inert gas is cooled in a condenser 3 in the heat pump apparatus 2 and removed, and the gas is then reheated, humidified and circulated through the reaction vessel 1.</p> |
