PURPOSE:To produce super low P and low S molten pig economically and effectively by using refining agent in which CaO is mixed with specially determined amount of BaO or BaCO3. CONSTITUTION:This refining agent is made by mixing CaO with 5-50wt% BaO or BaCO3 by conversion to BaO or the mixture of both materials and further if necessary, the oxidizing agent such as iron oxide and the fluxing agent such as fluorite. Low P and low S molten pig containing P less than about 0.010% and S less than about 0.005% may be produced by using this flux. |
