A purification device, acting on a body of water in a storage vessel 1 or a tank, for example, comprises pairs of electrodes 2, 3 for detecting the electrical fields of the water particles and of the particles in suspension. An electronic equipment 10, 11 analyses the signals received from the electrodes 2, 3, compares them with stored data and produces an oscillation which is a function of the result of this comparison for applying magnetic resonance to the particles. The oscillation is emitted by pairs of electrodes 4, 5 for trapping particles. The electrodes 4, 5 have opposite polarities; the particles are directed towards them, depending on their own polarity, and are retained thereon, permitting their easy removal from the liquid to be purified. <IMAGE>
