PURPOSE:To enable self-floating after measurement and to make measurement in deep sea easy, by placing an instrument capsule contg. a magnetic sensor, etc. freely attachably and detachably in a frame, fixing the same with fastening means and providing a floating body and a disconnecting means to the capsule. CONSTITUTION:An assembled magnetometer 1 is sunk and installed on a sea bottom 2, and various changes in magnetism are detected and measured with the instruments in a capsule 7. When an ultrasonic signal is transmitted from a ship upon ending of the measurement, a transducer 9 receives the signal, and after the signal is subjected to decoding, etc. with a transponder 12, a fastening pawl 10a makes releasing action. Then, a detaining piece 6b is disengaged from a disconnecting means 10, and a fixing band 6a suspends downward, thus making a magnetometer body 4 free. Said body is detached from a frame 3 by the buoyancy of a floating body 8 and floats by itself. When the body floats on the sea surface, a transmission means 11 emits intermittent light to announce the floating. The need for any rope for recovering is thus eliminated and the measurement is made possible in deep sea as well. |
