The invention relates to a brake disc which can be cooled in accordance with the principle of the heat exchanger tube, which contains a system of heat exchanger tubes integrated into the brake disc and which is designed as a compound structure comprising sheet-metal components and grey cast iron. Since grey cast iron is not sufficiently vacuum-resistant, the system of heat exchanger tubes is surrounded completely and on all sides only by sheet-metal or steel components. Secured in thermally conducting fashion on the sheet-metal components in the region of the braking surfaces are two friction rings of grey cast iron situated axially opposite one another, it being possible to accomplish this by brazing in order to allow renewal to be carried out. In addition, at least one friction ring should overlap at the inside in order to permit balancing. Brake discs of this kind are suitable in particular for highly loaded or aerodynamically enclosed vehicle brakes.
