Oligoisobutylcyclohexane, a process for its preparation and its use

An oligoisobutylcyclohexane of the formula: <IMAGE> wherein R1-R5 are identical or different and independently denote hydrogen, a C1-C4- alkyl group, C1-C4-alkoxy group or a C1-C4-alkylthio substitutent and R6 denotes a branched chain C12-C40-alkyl group of trimeric to decameric isobutene, a process for preparing such oligoisobutylcyclohexanes and their use as dielectric liquids, lubricants, heat transfer media and the like.
