The invention relates to a method for the production of a fastening member which is movable in a dental prosthesis for the purpose of fastening the latter in the mouth of a denture wearer, e.g. a latch, including the production of the movement space for this fastening member. According to the invention the fastening member is initially produced as a wax or injection-moulded part after which castings are prepared from this part; a first fastening member needed for the prosthesis is then cast from the material chosen for this in a first casting mould and a second, similar fastening member is then cast from electrolytic copper or a similar alloy suitable for eroding purposes in a second casting mould, and finally the space needed for the first fastening member is created in the prosthesis with the second cast fastening member as the electrode via electrical discharge machining. <IMAGE>
