PURPOSE:To obtain accurately the number of packages and the position of a faulty card, by discriminating simply both the generation of a fault among plural option cards and the position of the faulty card with a small number of signal lines and with no need for allotment of address. CONSTITUTION:In a normal state the output of a fault display FF within each option card is set at level ''0''. Therefore a gate 19 opens, and a vertical/horizontal connection is secured among +1 adders 18 of the cards respectively. Thus the output of addition which received +1 successively through each card is transmitted among cards at and after the one most distant away from a controller 1. Finally the final result of addition equivalent to the total number of cards is delivered to a bus 22. For instance, an MPx25 is controlled during the initialization of a system, and the value (M) on the bus 22 is stored in an initial addition result register 26 as long as a normal state is maintained. The controller 1 checks the value M in the register and confirms reasonableness of the number of packages. |
