A sail for a windsurfing board (1) or sailing boat having a mast (3) with a boom (4) is subdivided at the level of the boom (4) into a top sail part (7) and a bottom sail part (6). The two sail parts (6; 7) are to be connected to the boom (4) via intermediate pieces (10 and 11 resp.) which sit on the sail parts (6; 7) and essentially have the shape of the bulging (provided here) of the sail (5). The intermediate pieces (10; 11) can sit tightly at the top and bottom on a pocket (12) closely adapted to the boom (4). This sail arrangement replaces the hitherto conventional wishbone. <IMAGE>
