The cart is a twin skid or four or three-wheeled device, with fixed or steerable wheels to move by pushing off with the feet and riding the runners. It offers mobility and maximum security through the extended positioning of runners/wheels (ice blades/runners for ice and snow) and brakes for stopping. It can be propelled by non-human energy. Steering and part support is through cross bar handle, plus bodyweight acting on the flexibility of the frame or moveable steering crossbar. While the upright user can walk between the runners the primary purpose is to be carried along on them being a means of transport as well as support. A key element is a front seat to carry another person (often a child or elderly person) or for the placing of goods of any kind when required. A kneeling extension makes it usable by one unable to position a leg vertically on the foot rests. <IMAGE> |
