Supporting column (4) for an above-water platform (1), in particular for an oil or natural gas drilling rig, comprising a tubular casing (8) welded together in watertight fashion from sheet steel parts and, disposed inside the casing, an annular reinforcement (9), characterized in that the reinforcement consists of a concrete column (9) extending over the length of the supporting column and absorbing the thrust forces in an axial direction, the concrete column (9) not being formlockingly connected to the casing in an axial direction.
