PURPOSE:To improve the weatherability over the entire part of an optical disk by continuously providing a coating layer on the respective rear surfaces and respective side end faces of a pair of substrates constituting the surfaces of the optical disk. CONSTITUTION:This optical disk is constituted by sticking the substrates 2a, 2b respectively having recording layers in such a manner that the recording layers 1a, 1b face each other, then coating the entire part of the respective constituting elements with the coating layer 4. Then, the recording layers 1a, 1b sticking to the side end faces of the substrates 2a, 2b are completely coated with the coating layer 4. Such optical disk is prevented from the early initiation of the local deterioration of its recording layers and has high long-term reliability. |
