PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of a toner to an elastic blade which is a layer thickness control member as well as to a toner carrier, by making the surface of the toner carrier a coarse surface having unevenness parts of 1-4 times as large as the volume mean grain size of the toner. CONSTITUTION:The polyester resin powder is coated electrostatically on the outer circumference surface of a sleeve-shaped conductive nonmagnetic substrate 2 to form a dielectric layer 3 of 1,000mu. Then a liquid in which metallic particles 5 of iron, etc. having 3-40mu grain sizes are dispersed to thermosetting resin is coated on the layer 3 with 100mu thickness. Then the layer 3 is hardened with heat. The surface of the layer 3 is ground by a sandblast process, a chemical process such as etching, etc. or a knurl pressure process, etc. to obtain 10- 15mu sizes for the surface unevenness. Thus a diffusion layer 4 is obtained. The thickness of a magnetic toner 8 is controlled by an elastic blade 9 of rubber or metal. At the same time, the toner 8 is electrified and then sprayed to a photoreceptor 11 at a development part. After development the toner is cleaned by a conductive brush 10. |
