PURPOSE:To protect a heat transfer pipe from damages, by relieving thermal expansion from the top end of a heat transfer pipe, by jointing a ceramic heat transfer pipe to an upper header by sealing them by flexible material and fine powder. CONSTITUTION:The lower end of an upper header 1 is movably sealing-contacted to a furnace wall B, by the intermediary of a seal face mechanism 5, into which ceramic blocks 6 in the form of a container are inserted. Between the hole 60 of a ceramic block 6 and the heat transfer pipe 3, a heat-resistant flexible material 10 is provided to cover the whole surface. Any flexible material 10 such as a wire sheet or a ceramic cloth is usable if it has a heat-resistant property and flexibility. The flexible material 10 on the inner side of a header 10 is covered with a fine powder 11. Any material which has a certain degrees of heat-resistant property (in the vinity of about 650 deg.C) and the particle size below a predetermined size (below about 0.1mm.) can be used for the fine powder 11. For example, diatomaceous earth, silica sand, silica powder, cordierite powder, and alumina powder are usable for the purpose. |
