PURPOSE:To manufacture an inexpensive soft clad steel strip having a desired color by annealing a clad steel strip having a Cu alloy with a specified m.p. as the cladding material under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A Cu or Cu alloy clad steel strip is manufactured using Cu or a Cu alloy with >=700 deg.C m.p. contg. one or more among Zn, Sn, Al, Be, Mn, Ni, Fe and P as the cladding material. The clad steel strip is annealed at 600 deg.C- a temp. below the m.p. of the cladding material in an atmosphere of gaseous hydrogen or decomposed gas of ammonia with <=-20 deg.C dew point. |
