<p>In a bumper car of a bumper car amusement ride, wherein the car has a frame which includes a peripheral wall, a resilient bumper for the car, comprising an inflatable flexible tube surrounding the peripheral wall, an annular flexible protective cover overlapping the tube and having upper and lower annular bead loops on the upper and lower inner edges of the cover, a cinch cord extending through each of the bead loops with the ends of each cord pulled tightly inward through an opening in the peripheral wall of the car frame to draw the bead loops tightly against the peripheral wall, and means for securing the end portions of each cord against retraction outward through the peripheral wall.</p> |
